Okutama - Giant Trees

Okutama - These magnificent trees are often more than a thousand years old. About six of the largest in the area are within a day's hike in these undisturbed forests.

Much of the forest is Beech or "Buna" which retains water. The giants include Tochinoki, Katsura and Misunara trees.
